Forevers is as a market leader in the production of meat products in Latvia. Since 2003, the company has received several "PRODUCT OF THE YEAR" awards from the Latvian Retail Association (LRA) and continues to elevate industry standards.
The company has a workforce of over 750 employees. Every day, the company's control point ensures security and employee admission to the premises, granting access to approximately ~1000 individuals, including employees and guests. This figure reflects the numerous significant challenges Forevers faces regarding employee access control and management, as the entire process is manual and thus time-consuming.
One of the primary challenges faced by Forevers is the time wasted due to manual employee checks when entering the factory premises. Another crucial aspect is ensuring that employees are not under the influence of alcohol while on the company's premises.
To ensure security and employee checks on the company's premises, Forevers implemented an automated access and employee verification system provided by BISS. This system automatically grants access to employees and conducts alcohol checks, while also reporting any rule violations or arrivals of employees in unfit conditions to department managers and security personnel.
Thanks to the ICT project (implementation of access and alcohol verification systems) carried out by the reliable business partner BISS, Latvian company Forevers optimized its pass and security processes, modernized its access system using state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring long-term stable and secure system operation, which ultimately increased the company's stability and productivity.
BISS installed an access system consisting of cameras, breathalyzers, and turnstiles, which operate automatically. To grant access and allow entry to the company's premises, a face must be scanned by the camera. If the face is recognized, an informational message appears on the screen, prompting the individual to blow into the breathalyzer. Conversely, if the face is not recognized by the camera, the breathalyzer remains inactive, and an informational notification of access denial appears on the screen, while a notification is sent to the guard indicating the arrival of an unauthorized individual.
The BISS breathalyzer operates automatically and grants access to employees; for example, if no alcohol concentration is detected in the breath, they can enter the company, and the entrance turnstile is activated. Conversely, if alcohol concentration is detected in the breath, a notification appears on the screen indicating alcohol detection; in this case, the turnstile remains inactive, and notifications are automatically sent to both the manager and the guard.
Administrators of the access control system can access software for employee management, addition, or deletion, reports and logs for timekeeping, information on the number of employees, etc.
One of the key advantages of the new access system is that it significantly reduces the time needed for employees to enter the company. Company statistics show that the time spent on employee access processes has decreased by 30%. The average time required for an employee to undergo a breathalyzer test and receive access is approximately 5 seconds. This means that employees no longer waste as much time waiting in line and can start work promptly.
