Rīgas Satiksme, the public transport and parking authority of Latvia’s capital, operates a vast network of on-street parking across Riga. Faced with aging infrastructure, high maintenance costs, and growing user dissatisfaction, Rīgas Satiksme needed an efficient, budget-conscious way to modernize its parking system without undergoing a full hardware replacement.
In collaboration with BISS, the authority embarked on a smart retrofit initiative that significantly reduced operational costs, increased user satisfaction, and introduced new revenue streams—all while extending the life of its existing infrastructure.
